Today is International Dog Day!
We’re big fans of furry friends here at Cognota, and doggos have a special place in our hearts. So, we thought we’d celebrate by introducing you to the dogs of Cognota!
Meet Junior
Junior lives with our founder and CEO, Ryan, in Toronto. Before we started working from home earlier this year, Junior also worked for Cognota as our office mascot! Junior is an American Bully who loves his toy basket and seeing people because he loves back scratches.
Meet Alice
Alice is a 9 year old Beagle and lives with her owner, Cognota software engineer Alex, in Merida, Mexico.
“Alice is my 9 year old Beagle. She’ll turn 10 in October, so it looks like she’ll have a quarantined birthday this year, like the rest of us
She’s past her prime and these days she just loves cuddling next to people as they pet her. She’s very sociable and good with people, she’s also usually good with other dogs as long as they don’t bark at her too much and let her chill. She’s really good with her nose (almost like she was bred for that 
). We’ve been hiding her treats around the house instead of giving them to her directly, and she usually beelines to where we put them!”
Meet Jasper
This is Jasper, he’s a 2.5 year old Australian Shepherd. His best friend is a 6 year old cat named Malt and his special talent is jumping. There is no fence this guy can’t see over…
Jasper lives in Toronto with our CMO, Kristy.
Meet Johnny
Johnny is a gorgeous Goldendoodle who lives with our software release manager Jacqui in Toronto.
“This is Johnny! He is an 8-year old Goldendoodle, but still has puppy energy. He lives for cuddles and belly rubs. He loves chasing after squirrels, and is not a huge fan of skateboards. He earns his keep by chasing pigeons away when they perch and poop on his family’s Downtown TO apartment balcony. Johnny’s specialties are sit, paw, high-five, finding hidden toys, and “BANG!”
Meet Nala and Lobo!
Nala and Lobo live in Merida, Mexico with Cognota lead software engineer, Ricardo.
“Nala is a 2 year old Husky-Labrador. She has tons of energy and is really curious. She loves to be petted and getting plenty of beauty sleep. Her specialty is eating really really slowly while she lays down.
Lobo is a 4 year old Husky. He loves to relax, travel in the car and go to the beach. His specialty is pulling skaters and bikers.”
Meet Rosie!
Rosie is a rescue dog, so her age is a guesstimate, but she’s around 3 years old. She’s an English Springer Spaniel who lives in Dublin, Ireland with content marketing manager, Lauren, and makes frequent and unscheduled guest appearances on Zoom calls.
“Like a typical Springer, Rosie is full of energy and loves nothing more than to run around outside. She knows sit, paw, and rollover, but she’ll only do them if you have a treat in your hand! When she’s not busy running around or chasing birds, she loves nothing more than a cuddle and a snooze.”
