Happy Birthday to Us! Celebrating 6 Years of Cognota

Today marks six years of Cognota growing and maturing into the company, culture and product that it is today. We’re so proud of how far we’ve come and so excited to see what the next six years holds too!

In celebration of this birthday, we’re taking a little trip down memory lane to look back at everything we’ve achieved in our sixth year.

Growing the Team

Our team has grown to 28 Synapsters! During the last year, we’ve welcomed lots of wonderful new team members to Cognota. From sales and marketing to product and engineering, we’re super proud of the team we’ve assembled so far.

As we continue to grow, our core values inform everything we do as a team to continue improving our software and serving our clients.

The Cognota values of embrace uncertainty, break down the walls, keep it win win, enjoy the ride, be better than yesterday, and drive the WOW factor were created collaboratively by the Cognota team. We continue to strive to work and live by them every day.

Welcoming New Partners

In the past year we’re delighted to have started working with some fantastic partners. For example, in September 2020 we started working with Relias, a software company specializing in education for healthcare providers.

Cognota and relias

We particularly welcomed the opportunity to kick off this partnership at a time when healthcare organizations were facing increased pressure to deliver training on new protocols and procedures due to the pandemic. With this partnership, Relias clients can now rapidly author and deploy much needed eLearning content to employees.

Partners come in all shapes and sizes and we’re also fortunate to have welcomed some incredible guest speakers to chat with us on webinars and contribute their knowledge to our “Ask the Expert” blog series.

Working with Amazing Clients

We’re so lucky to work with some amazing clients across a whole range of industries. In the past year we’ve worked with some of those clients to tell the story of how they’ve been using Cognota to increase productivity and capacity for their L&D teams.

International Student Exchange

With a rapidly growing remote workforce, International Student Exchange (ISE) wanted to find a more streamlined digital solution to overcome some of these remaining training challenges. They wanted to ensure training was consistent, learners were engaged, it was centrally deployed and accessible, and could be updated quickly and easily.

With Cognota, they’ve been able to centralize all their training courses in one spot for rapid creation and updating at the click of a button.

Americo

Americo saw room for improvement in their talent development processes in the way training was created and delivered, especially when it came to employee onboarding.

While still using manual processes and disparate technology tools to create both instructor-led training sessions and PDF job aids. Though the company had a learning management system in place, they had only dabbled in e-learning and the single platform was not enough to deliver the necessary mission critical training components in such a way that everyone would benefit.

With Cognota, the talent development team at Americo could now quickly and efficiently work with subject matter experts to create, approve and deliver engaging eLearning experiences for new hires.

American Water

When it came to their training intake process, American Water’s L&D team was “operating on whispers.” Requests for training would reach them through multiple informal channels and inevitably get lost in the noise. Projects were kicked off with incomplete information and the team struggled to keep track of who was working on what.

Using the Training Intake and Project Planning features of Cognota, the L&D team now has complete oversight into the demand for training across the organization and an accurate picture of the team’s current and upcoming workload.

Celebrating Milestones & Having Fun

While we’re celebrating this birthday working remotely and staying apart, during the past year we’ve worked hard to stay connected and continue to create memories as a team.

From our remote holiday party where we welcomed Michael the Magician to today’s birthday celebration where we’ll take a virtual tour of a local farm, we’ve been finding new ways to have fun in a work-from-home environment.

Hopefully by our next birthday, we’ll all have had the chance to be together again and make more memories in person!
